I read Marc Thiessen’s column in the Feb. 2 Herald, and was very disappointed in its tone and content. I usually disagree with most of Charles Krauthammer’s positions, but do find his column thoughtful and informative. I had no such reaction to Thiessen’s column.
The total omission of Trump’s role in creating the DACA crisis (dismissing Pelosi’s accurate complaint), and faulting Schumer for not wanting to fund Trump’s “wall,” I was really offended by his characterization of Democrats as being motivated by “hatred of Trump and all-encompassing lust for power,” and his conclusion that Democrats “care more about using illegal immigration to bash Donald Trump than they do about actually helping Dreamers.”
I hope you can find a columnist who recognizes Trump’s all-out assault on the rule of law, not someone who holds him up as a “leader” to be admired.
