Thanks to all for music-infused fundraiser

On June 3 a special fundraiser took place at Everett’s Madison Pub. Two deserving people were helped: John Jones, owner of Thumper Drums, currently undergoing treatment for cancer; and Gale Prouty, local massage therapist, widowed suddenly when her partner, Mark Hibbert, musician and owner of Whiskey Ridge Productions, suffered a fatal heart attack. Thanks so much to everyone who organized, played, worked and attended — most especially, organizers Dave and Angela McCabe, Rick Bowen and Ron Bramblett, owner of the Madison Pub.

Bands performed from noon until after 9 — a different band every hour. Nomad Fish with Brian Bohman, the Acoustikattz, Mary McPage Band, Kevin Sutton All Stars featuring Tom Jones &Rick J Bowen, David Lee Howard &The Volcanos, RJ &Honey Robin, Blues PlayGround and Cavernous Groove all took the stage to an extremely generous and enthusiastic crowd.

On top of that, many valuable items were donated for a very successful raffle. The whole event was streamed live on the Internet, so John could watch from his location in California.

Special thanks to Wayne Hayton, Paul Roberts and David McGuire for producing a tribute CD, the Mark Hibbert “Collection.” Rob Bramblett, Paul Quilty, Willow Stone and Matthew Bingham McBride all helped tremendously. Sharon Elwood, Susanne Levy Garrett and Angela McCabe for their unfailingly cheerful, hard-working energy.

There is nothing like the love of friends who share the bond of music. Thank you to everyone who made this night a success. I’m sure I echo the sentiment of both families when I say I love you all. Because of you, over $3,000 was raised. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
