So what have I learned about the 12th man this month? As I read in the paper and see on the news all of the theft involving 12th man flags and banners from community members flag poles, doorways and yards, I have to wonder: If a 12th man can steal from a dying man, a senior citizen and a disabled person, what does that say about the 12th man? Perhaps they steal because they are Broncos fans? Perhaps they steal because they just like to steal and aren’t really 12th man supporters at all? I don’t know the real reason for their behavior because all I know now is that my American flag, the two 12th man flags I had hanging on my flag pole, have been stolen and my flag pole is damaged so I can’t even re-hang another American flag until it is repaired.
I know that the core values of the 12th man do not support this cowardly behavior. So to the “12th man” who stole my flags and damaged my flag pole, stole the Seahawk flag from the dying man, stole the 12th man flag from the senior citizen and took away some of the joy of the Super Bowl from a disabled person, maybe it’s time you start supporting another team. We don’t need your “12th man” support anymore.
