Researchers in England, looking for the triggers that cause people to give in to food cravings, asked 80 people to use smartphones to record the circumstances behind temptation. Being around friends, alcohol and fatigue were found to work against willpower, while recording the cravings on the phones helped to fight them.
Respondents also found it easier not to eat tempting foods, like doughnuts or ice cream, if they crammed the phones in their mouths.
Flip of the coin: A 64-year-old California man, who Newsweek magazine identified as the creator of the bitcoin, denies any connection to the controversial virtual currency and has hired a lawyer to clear his name. The man said he hasn’t had an Internet connection since last year.
Newsweek said it stood by its story and would bet 100 bitcoins it was right.
