I’m also a disappointed fan, after Loverboy’s lead singer left the Xfinity Arena concert (“Loverboy fans seek compensation,” The Herald, Oct. 13). I purchased six tickets, planned an evening with friends and family, that did not quite go as planned. The difference between those you interviewed and me is that I read my order confirmation. It very clearly states that all sales are final upon completion of transaction. No refunds or exchanges.
Should Loverboy have given their portion back? Yes, it was the appropriate action.
There is no way Survivor should have to play for free. There is overhead involved in any event. Travel, roadies, hotel expenses, food, the venue, etc. So we did not hear the real Loverboy. Disappointing, yes, but I got to hear a pretty awesome local singer that I was not aware of, and I spent time with my husband, friends and family. I think the offer of six tickets to a future event is an amazing offer from the events center, not an obligation they have by any means.
Take it as it’s meant to be, a generous apology for something they had no control over.
