Walk, don’t run
You’ve probably heard of the slow food movement. Now an author-blogger advocates something she calls “slow parenting.” For example, she suggests that instead of jumping into the minivan and dashing off to the next enrichment activity, parents should take the kids on a walk after dinner and get to know their neighborhood.
Expect to see a lot of families strolling the cul de sacs — once college admission officers start looking for “took lots of leisurely walks” on applications.
