It is a must to write this letter, and also a great privilege. It has been a while, but the professionalism of two responders to take my 101 year-old mother to Swedish Hospital in Edmonds from a rehab place in Lynnwood, has stayed in my mind.
She died the day after Mother’s Day. I asked which district they were from, they said Everett. I was surprised. I understood how prevalent emergencies involving senior citizens are, and I believe about inter-local support when needed.
What I know, is the reality that we senior citizens in Snohomish County and all the cities in the county, especially Lynnwood, are fortunate to have the finest of them all. A sustainable budget to continue on-going training necessary to meet the necessary requirements in saving lives. When leaving their family to answer the call for duty and kissing their kids goodbye, I personally do not want them to worry about jobs being cut, about cutting local services. Firefighters and Police are strong infrastructures for any given city.
