The recent article on the chase involving the State Patrol going after a speeding motorcycle was unbalanced (“Parents of man who died during WSP chase still have questions,” The Herald, Dec. 10).
The writer mentioned the dangers to all involved in a hot pursuit situation. However, no mention was made about potential dangers to innocent bystanders when it becomes a hard-and-fast rule that a reckless driver will always be allowed to escape. Also, no mention was made about situations involving hostages, or the known commission of a serious felony (murder or armed robbery).
