After reading about the “rubber rooms” for teachers who have for one reason or another been barred from the classroom but because of union contracts cannot be fired in New York, California and other states, we were wondering how many such teachers we have in Washington. We’ve heard that in our state, school administrators simply transfer them to another school.
Our bet is you will be unable to get any information on this subject in our state. Especially when the president of the Washington Education Association pretty much tells our state legislators what they dare to do or not do.
Please surprise us!
