Every day now, the first news we all hear is about the sexual harassment claims that keep coming day after day.
Let’s all face the truth, I would feel safe saying that 99 percent of men and women have been guilty of sexual harassment with the opposite sex at one time or another, or many times, in their lives. And for the women coming out claiming Charlie Rose, Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, or whoever sexually harassed them, why not name all of the men who have harassed you in your life?
How about past and current friends, acquaintances, and even husbands who have been guilty? Is what you want or expect now, when you are with someone, that that individual ask permission first to touch you inadvertently, to touch your arm, put his or her hand on your back, to pat someone’s butt, to hug someone, each and every time, even after knowing this person and even dating this person? Because what I am hearing, if consent isn’t given each and every time, harassment charges could be brought.
I know I am therefore guilty. Who isn’t? So, before anyone passes judgment on someone else, ask yourselves “Have I ever touched, groped or whatever, another person without their permission”? And be honest.
