‘Yes’ vote proves we’re stupid

The elections are finally over and there is one item, approved by the voters, that is particularly disturbing. I refer to the one that approves the purchase from the state, of 1 oz of marijuana for users 21 years of age or older. For many years the purchase of tobacco had similar restrictions. The use of tobacco had been, and still is under increasing criticism by the medical community for its effects not only on the users, but on those exposed to the smoke. We are at the point where its’ use is not permitted in commercial establishments.

Now comes the approval of the marijuana bill. Marijuana has some medical benefits under certain conditions overseen by the medical profession. However, the recreational use of marijuana, which is an introductory drug to others, such as methadone, cocaine etc, has been approved, even though the harmful side effects are well known.

This vote confirms the fact that much of the human race is becoming more stupid as the years go by.
