What is RSS?
HeraldNet updates its Web site with local news as it happens. In addition to displaying these headlines on Herald Co. Web sites, HeraldNet makes headlines available for syndication, so that other Web sites or applications can include our headlines and link readers to HeraldNet.

Headline syndication does not deal with the full text of articles, it is simply about syndicating just the headline, link and summary and automatically updating a list of headlines, with each headline being a link to the item that it refers to on the HeraldNet Web site.

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is the name given to a simple and well-established XML format used to syndicate headlines. If you're interested in RSS, but you're unsure how to incorporate an RSS feed on your Web site, please visit www.purplepages.ie/rss for more information.

HeraldNet has several RSS feeds. Here you can find a feed containing all of today's headlines or feeds categorized by popular news sections. As news is updated throughout the day, the RSS feed will contain the newest links at top of the feed.
