How It Works
Each team plays three games within its pool. The teams with the top two records after pool play advance to the semifinals. In the case of a tie, the first tiebreaker is head-to-head competition. The second tiebreaker — in the event of a three-way tie that can’t be broken by head-to-head competition — is the total number of runs given up, divided by the number of innings played on defense. The team with the lowest “run differential” advances. If necessary, the remaining two teams are separated by head-to-head competition.
