The Game (Story)
EVERETT – Suspension and injury robbed the Everett Silvertips of their top two point producers for Friday night’s game against the Kamloops Blazers.

So the Tips went out and scored four goals for the first time in nine games in a 4-3 win over the Blazers before 4,611 fans at Xfinity Arena.

Khomenko breaks his silence to the surprise of this reporter Everett Silvertips Russian forward Yan Khomenko looked at me today as he walked to the locker room after practice.

He nodded and said, "Hello. How are you doing?"

I was dumbstruck because I was under the impression Khomenko didn’t speak English.

The Game
The Silvertips’ recent scoring struggles would have to be concerning. OK, they haven’t exactly been known for their offensive prowess, but Friday’s 2-1 loss at Tri-City was their third consecutive defeat and third consecutive game with one or fewer goals. Even the two wins before this losing streak were 2-1 verdicts over Kamloops and Saskatoon.

The Everett Silvertips are east of the mountains tonight as they take on the Tri-City Americans after a week’s worth of practice following Saturday’s game at Red Deer.

The break was a welcome one after 10 games in 16 days, but their task after the lengthy layoff is another three games in three nights slate.

Tuesday practice notes I’m headed up to the CHL Top Prospects Game in Vancouver Wednesday, so Tuesday was my only chance to see the Tips practice this week.

Everett goaltender Carter Hart and equipment manager James Stucky left the arena for Vancouver prior to practice as both are scheduled to participate in the event.

The Everett Silvertips had the day off Monday as they traveled back from Alberta following Saturday night’s game at Red Deer.

They’ll be back at practice Tuesday, I’m told, but otherwise it will be a fairly light week before they play at Tri-City on Friday.

The Everett Silvertips' Brandon Ralph returns to face old team (video) I spoke with Everett Silvertips forward Brandon Ralph before the team bus left on Tuesday, and I recorded the interview you see below. Ralph, a former Edmonton Oil King, will play against his old team for the only time this season Friday.

The biggest surprise about the interview? The fact that Ralph has a physical calendar with Friday’s date marked:

The Everett Silvertips defeat the Seattle Thunderbirds (including post-game video from Carter Hart and Cole MacDonald) First Things First
One thing I wanted to incorporate into this blog when I took the job was video. It’s taken a little while to get all of that stuff figured out, but Saturday seems like a good time to debut some postgame video interviews on the blog. I can’t promise this will happen after every game, but I’ll do my best. Check out interviews from goaltender Carter Hart and defenseman Cole MacDonald below.

The Everett Silvertips had a brief team meeting Monday, but that was it for team activities after playing three games in three nights.

Head coach Kevin Constantine said the team wasn’t as sharp during Sunday’s 3-1 win at Spokane as the previous two games, but that was to be expected.

The Game
The Everett Silvertips were in control from the outset as they defeated the Spokane Chiefs 3-1 Sunday evening.

The Tips showed no ill effects from playing their third road game in three nights as they scored once in each period. Only a late goal from Wyatt Johnson ruined Carter Hart’s shutout bid.

The Game
Eventually we’re going to run out of superlatives for how this Silvertips team continues to win games. Everett did it again Friday as the Tips overcame a late 2-1 deficit with Remi Laurencelle’s second power play goal of the game, and won it in overtime with Cole MacDonald’s goal.

The first-place Everett Silvertips put their three-game winning streak on the line tonight at Kelowna where they will take on the conference-leading Rockets. The game will be televised live in Canada on Shaw TV. I don’t believe that’s available in the United States, but please correct me if I’m wrong.
