Police search for suspect in fatal stabbing
SPOKANE -- Spokane police hunted Friday for a suspect in what they call a random attack in which a woman was stabbed to death as she walked her dog.Interim police chief Scott Stephens warned residents to be vigilant while the suspect remained on the run.

5-year term for Vancouver heroin overdose death
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A woman who sold the heroin that killed a Vancouver man was sentenced Thursday to more than five years in prison.Brittany Sonnen of Vancouver had pleaded guilty to controlled-substance homicide in the overdose death last August of 24-year-old Adam Hurd.
