No injuries in Hoquiam school bus accident

HOQUIAM -- No one was injured when a Hoquiam school bus went into a ditch off Highway 101.A district transportation spokeswoman told KBKW the children were transferred to another bus Tuesday morning, while a crew worked to get their bus back on the road.

Burglar leaves shoes behind at Hoquiam break-in

HOQUIAM -- Police say a Hoquiam burglar left his shoes behind as he escaped on a mountain bike.The homeowner heard noises about 5 a.m. Wednesday and scared off the man, who fled with a bag of belongings.

Aberdeen, Hoquiam plan day jail for misdemeanors

HOQUIAM -- Aberdeen and Hoquiam plan to open a day jail where misdemeanor offenders will be able to serve their sentences in 8-hour blocks of time.KBKW reported that the day jail would be located at the Hoquiam city jail that was closed 10 years ago by budget cuts.

Shoplifter leaves I.D. behind at store

HOQUIAM -- Police say they won't have a hard time finding a shoplifter who hit a drug store in Hoquiam. Det. Shane Krohn tells KBKW it appears the woman left her wallet behind when she ditched a purse full of stolen goods outside of the store.

Missing Hoquiam woman found dead of exposure

OCEAN SHORES -- A missing Hoquiam woman has been found dead near Ocean Shores.Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott told KOMO Radio it appears Sherry Christy became lost in thick brush while picking mushrooms and died of exposure.
