Campers stranded by mudslides near Leavenworth rescued
LEAVENWORTH -- The U.S. Forest Service says the 30 or so campers who were stranded by mudslides in northcentral Washington have been rescued.Spokeswoman Susan C. Peterson says crews were able open a channel through a road to the popular camping area that allowed them to leave on Saturday.
