Furnace worker injured in Sequim propane explosion

SEQUIM -- A heating company employee suffered minor burns to his face and hands in an explosion Thursday when he was working on a propane-powered furnace at a home in Sequim.The 57-year-old man was treated at the scene by firefighters and taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.

Rare biotoxin closes Sequim Bay shellfish harvesting

SEQUIM -- A biotoxin has closed Sequim Bay and authorities are banning all recreational harvest of shellfish in the bay. Peninsula Daily News reported that Sequim Bay is the only body of saltwater in the U.S. where diarrhetic shellfish poisoning has been found.

SEQUIM -- An African white rhinoceros named Ricky has died at the Olympic Game Farm at Sequim.Farm President Bob Beebe says he died Sept. 12 of natural causes at the age of 31.
