Wildfire burns 2,000 acres near Sunnyside
SUNNYSIDE -- A wildfire burned about 2,000 acres of brush Wednesday near Sunnyside before Yakima Valley firefighters got the upper hand.KVEW reports helicopters with water buckets helped douse the fire that was driven by a 15 mph winds.No homes or other structures burned.

Teen setting fireworks hit by car near Sunnyside
SUNNYSIDE -- The Washington State Patrol said a 17-year-old boy who was setting off fireworks in a road was struck by a car and killed late Monday night near Sunnyside.The patrol said the teen, Adan M. Gonzalez of Grandview, had his back to traffic when he was struck. He died at the scene.

Driver dies after backing into Sunnyside canal
