University Place teacher sentenced for sex crime

TACOMA — A 33-year-old man who taught at Curtis High School in University Place was sentenced Tuesday in Tacoma to 20 months in prison for having sex with a 17-year-old student.Michael Allen pleaded guilty in August of sexual misconduct with a minor and violating a no-contact order.
