Former fire chief accused of theft
WOODLAND -- Police have arrested a former Woodland fire chief and city council candidate for allegedly using $5,000 he received from a 75-year-old woman for campaign expenses to pay off a personal debt.

16-year-old drowns at Woodland lake
WOODLAND -- Police say a 16-year-old drowned while swimming Monday afternoon at Horseshoe Lake in Woodland.Witnesses say he swam to a buoy and got into trouble while returning to shore. Another swimmer was unable to save him.Divers found the body about an hour later.------
