Mount Vernon vs. Newport
When: Tuesday night, 7:30 p.m.

Breakdown: Newport finished the season 13-7, but six of those losses came in Kingco play and the Knights took fourth in the Kingco Crown division behind Garfield, Issaquah and Ballard. In the District 2 Tournament, though, Newport came roaring to life after losing to Bothell in the first round. The Knights beat Eastlake, Ballard — for the first time in three tries — and Inglemoor to take third place and keep their season alive. Ferris is the Knights leading scorer and scored 16 and 15 points in the wins over Eastlake and Ballard, respectively. Newport’s sophomore center Calvin Throckmorton is coming on as well, scoring a game-high 19 points in the win over Inglemoor.
