Prep basketball season isn’t quite over yet.
A pair of all-star showcases featuring some of the state’s best players will be held Saturday in local venues.
The 2017 All-State Senior All-Star Games, presented by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association, will be played at Mountlake Terrace High School.
Class 2B will play Class 1B at 2 p.m., followed Class 1A and Class 2A at 4 p.m. and Class 3A vs. Class 4A at 6 p.m.
Arlington’s Drew Bryson, Stanwood’s AJ Martinka and Shorecrest’s Malcolm Rosier-Butler will compete for the 3A team.
Luke Wicks of King’s will play for the 1A squad.
Nathan Hale’s Michael Porter Jr. was named as the WIBCA’s Mr. Basketball.
Cameron Cranston of Union (4A), Nate Pryor of West Seattle (3A), Roberto Gittens of Foss (2A), Corey Kispert of King’s (1A), Luke Lovelady of Life Christian (2B) and Trazil Lane of Lummi Nation (1B) were selected as the association’s players of the year.
Porter Jr. and Kispert won’t participate in Saturday’s games, however.
Kispert, a Gonzaga signee, missed a chunk of his senior season with a foot injury.
The 2017 Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association Senior All State Games will be played at King’s High School’s Mike Martin Gymnasium.
Class 1B will play Class 2B at 2 p.m.; Class 1A vs. Class 2A at 4 p.m.; and Class 3A vs. Class 4A at 6 p.m.
Glacier Peak’s Samantha Fatkin, Kayla Watkins and Paisley Johnson will play for the 4A squad, while Kaprice Boston and Kelsey Rogers of Lynnwood will compete for the 3A team.
Hannah Echelbarger of King’s is on the 1A squad’s roster.
The WSGBCA’s player of the year picks will be announced during halftime sessions of Saturday’s games.
