Arlington to play for Wesco 3A’s third seed to district

ARLINGTON — Kyra Prause led all scorers with 22 points for Arlington in Wednesday’s 59-33 Wesco 3A seeding victory over Lynnwood and she did so in three quarters of play, sitting out the fourth after splitting her lip in an inadvertent collision.

Arlington advanced to a Friday playoff vs. Shorecrest for the No. 3 and 4 seeds into the 3A District 1 tournament. Lynnwood will be the fifth seed.

Arlington’s defense shined, taking 15 steals. Quinn Kesselring led the way with six.

Arlington coach Nathan Davis credited the tenacity of his players on defense and said the girls were successful in every defensive set. “A lot of (Wesco) coaches were there to watch so we played all (the defensive sets),” Davis said.
