Today is a big day for spring sports playoffs as the first round of state tennis, softball baseball and the second day of track and field championships are being held all day long.

Archbishop Murphy’s Mark Schireman won the 2A boys javelin with a personal record throw of 179 feet, 2 inches.
Cascade’s Tay’lor Eubanks won the 4A boys triple jump
Lakewood’s Justin Peterson won the 2A boys high jump
SOFTBALL
Monroe beat Kentlake 7-3 to advance to the 4A quarterfinals
Granite Falls beat White River 10-4 to advance to the 2A quarterfinals
Everett beat Liberty to advance to 3A quarterfinals
Meadowdale came from behind to beat Peninsula 4-3 to advance to 3A quarterfinals
Marysville Pilchuck beat Emerald Ridge 4-3 to advance to quarterfinals
TENNIS
Stanwood’s Megan LaLone won both of her matches 6-0, 6-0 to advance to semifinals of 4A singles play
