Big second quarter lifts Glacier Peak boys past Kamiak

SNOHOMISH — In a game in which offense was difficult to come by, Glacier Peak’s 19-point second quarter was enough to see the Grizzlies past Kamiak 43-38 in a nonleague game on Tuesday.

“I think we settled down (in the second),” Glacier Peak head coach Brian Hill said. “We got out on to the break a little more and got some easy shots.”

Trey Chambers led the Grizzlies with 13 points and Brady Southard added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Henderson Belk had 10 points for the Knights.

Kamiak outscored Glacier Peak in every quarter but the second and managed to cut the lead to three with 50 seconds left in the game. But the Grizzlies worked a 45-second possession that ended with Nick Allen making a 5-foot baseline jumper with five seconds left to seal the contest.
