Community roundup: Red Raiders top Pacific

The Everett Red Raiders football team, a squad comprised largely of students from Everett Community College, improved to 3-1 on Saturday with a 21-14 victory over the Pacific University JV in Forest Grove, Ore.

In a game played in a driving rainstorm, Everett got the winning touchdown in the late minutes on a 97-yard kickoff return by Steven Allen Jr.

The Red Raiders totaled 217 rushing yards, with LaVonte Hatcher gaining 100 on 15 carries. D.J. Hardy added 81 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Everett’s next game is 1 p.m. Sunday against Eastside at Renton Memorial Stadium.

Players on watch lists

Ten boys high school lacrosse players from Snohomish County have been named to the junior and senior watch lists for the upcoming season by, a national online magazine, announced the lists last week.

Named to the senior watch list were defenseman-midfielder Davyd Powell (Snohomish), midfielder Jordan Tindall (Meadowdale), and defensemen Jameson Beretta (Everett) and Niko May (Meadowdale).

Named to the junior list were attack player Nathan Hanold (Everett), midfielders Sean Hess (Everett), Miles Craggs (Kamiak) and Tristan Hunter (Kamiak), defenseman Spencer Donnelson (Kamiak), and goalie Brad Strong (Jackson).
