The NFL draft is over, which means 32 teams have to scramble to sign the top players who went undrafted. The Seahawks just announced they have agreed to terms with 10 players, and while many of these players won’t make the team, last year was a good reminder that undrafted free agents aren’t complete afterthoughts either.
Most notably, Doug Baldwin joined the Seahawks after going undrafted, and went on to lead the team in receiving in 2011. Three other undrafted players Seattle signed after the draft also finished last year on the 53-man roster: QB Josh Portis, WR Ricardo Lockette and S Jeron Johnson.
So with that in mind, here are the 10 players who have agreed to terms with the Seahawks:
WR Jermaine Kearse, Washington
WR Phil Bates, Ohio U
CB London Durham, McNeese State
G Rishawn Johnson, California (Pa.)
TE Sean McGrath, Henderson State
T Jon Opperud, Montana
DB DeShawn Shead, Portland State
DE Monte Taylor, Cincinnati
WR Lavasier Tuinei, Oregon
K Carson Wiggs, Purdue
