CAMANO ISLAND — Corey Westerman of Camano Island won a new truck Friday when he recorded a hole-in-one during the SCIS Golf Classic V at Camaloch Golf Course.
Westerman, 28, aced the 167-yard, No. 9 hole. He used a 6-iron.
The tournament was a fund-raiser for Stanwood-Camano Incident Support (SCIS) and drew 126 golfers.
Blade Chevrolet of Mount Vernon helped sponsor the event and offered a 2014 Silverado pickup truck to anyone who made a hole-in-one on the ninth hole.
“It hasn’t really sunk in,” Westerman, a firefighter, said in a press release, “because I haven’t seen all the tax forms yet.”
SCIS is a non-profit organization headquartered in Stanwood. Its 14 volunteer chaplains provide support to city and county first responders.
