SEATTLE — The University of Washington is reviving an old football rivalry against the University of Montana.
UW athletic director Scott Woodward announced Friday the Huskies will host the Grizzlies on Sept. 2, 2017. It will be the first matchup between the football teams since 1951.
Montana and Washington both played in the Pacific Coast Conference from 1924 to 1950 and played each other 18 times during that time period. All but one game was being played in Seattle. Washington leads the series 16-1-1 with Montana’s only win coming in 1920.
