Distance runner Bill Iffrig will be the guest speaker Wednesday night as part of Cascade High School’s “Legends of Running Tour.”

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria and is free to the public.

Iffrig, who lives in Lake Stevens, is a 26-time national age-group champion in track and cross country, and has won silver and bronze medals at the World Masters Championships.

He competed in this year’s Boston Marathon, and was near the finish line when the first of two bombs exploded. Iffrig was knocked to the ground by the blast. A photo of people rushing to Iffrig’s aid appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated the following week.
