Jaguars’ Blackmon involved in crash afte tire blew out on his car

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon was involved in a crash early Saturday morning when a tire blew out on his car. Alcohol was not involved, according the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1lF0ANl ) reported that a rear tire blew out on Blackmon’s 2009 Denali while he traveled on I-295. The car veered off the road and into a guardrail.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the investigation has concluded and no charges will be filed.

Blackmon is currently suspended indefinitely from the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He was arrested for driving under the influence in 2010 and 2012. Blackmon, who was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, was suspended for the first four games of 2013 for his second violation and suspended indefinitely in November for his third violation.

Blackmon has played 20 games in two NFL seasons. He caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie in 2012, playing all 16 games. Blackmon had 29 receptions in four games in 2013.
