EVERETT — Bryce Kindopp scored twice to raise his WHL-leading goal total to 10 on the season, Dawson Butt added his first goal of the season and the Everett Silvertips cruised to a 5-1 win over the Tri-City Americans on Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Kindopp opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 13:02 in the first period and Michal Gut scored just over a minute later as Everett jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead.
Butt scored at 11:57 in the second period to give the Silvertips a three-goal advantage before Sasha Mutala’s goal pulled the Americans back to within two at 3-1.
Gage Goncalves added an insurance goal at 9:30 in the third and Kindopp fired in an empty-netter with time winding down.
Dustin Wolf stopped 23 of 24 shots to earn the win for the Silvertips (7-3-0-0).
Beck Warm saved 27 of 31 shots for the Americans (5-4-0-0).
