The Silvertips were back on the ice Wednesday after taking a couple of days to rest and recuperate following last weekend’s three games in three nights.
Everett is back up to No. 3 in the overall CHL rankings:

The Tips are going to need the rest as they play another three-in-three this weekend followed by games Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. All told they will play seven games in nine days.
Wednesday at practice, Tips assistant coaches Brennan Sonne and Mitch Love (both British Columbia natives) were clad in Team USA warm-up suits thanks to a lost bet with Tips goaltending coach Shane Clifford (a native of Pennsylvania).

It seems Clifford bet the two Everett assistants that the coaches hailing from the loser of the World Junior Championship game between the USA and Canada would have to wear the other team’s warm-ups. The Americans topped the Canadians 5-4 in a shootout.
“Well a bet’s a bet,” said Everett head coach Kevin Constantine, a native of Minnesota. “They’re honorable men who owned up to their bet and they look good in USA stuff, as anybody would. So I like the look.”
Clifford is in town as part of USA Hockey’s efforts to encourage and improve goaltending in the States, and to work with Carter Hart and Mario Petit. Clifford also works with the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms and the Sioux City (Iowa) Musketeers of the USHL, so the Pittsburgh resident spends his time visiting all three cities during the course of the season.
Defensemen Noah Juulsen and Lucas Skrumeda did not skate and both are listed as “day-to-day” on the WHL weekly report with lower-body injuries.
