Merchants sweep Blaze

Langley, BC. — The Everett Merchants swept the Langley Blaze 9-0 and 4-2 in a Pacific International League doubleheader on Saturday.

Gunnar Swanson (EvCC) pitched a one-hit shutout for the Merchants in the opener, striking out five and walking two. Leadoff hitter Sam Brown and designated hitter Keenan Forch each went 3-for-4.

In the nightcap, Aaron Hatch (EvCC) pitched a complete game for Everett, while second baseman Jacob Oster sparked the Merchants’ offense by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
