PORTLAND, Ore. — Jamal Crawford scored 27 points off the bench and the Atlanta Hawks outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers 97-91 on Tuesday night.
Al Horford’s dunk with 56.6 seconds remaining made it 95-89 and all but sealed it for the Hawks. Horford finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
LaMarcus Aldridge, who was questionable going into the game with a knee injury, led the Blazers with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Horford’s dunk on a fast break put the Hawks up 86-80 with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. He momentarily stood underneath the basket, staring down the Rose Garden crowd in defiance after Portland led by as many as 12 points in the first half.
Portland’s Travis Outlaw made a jumper and a 3-pointer to narrow it to 86-85, but Crawford came back with a jump shot from the top of the arc with 4:01 to play.
After Outlaw closed in again with another jumper, Joe Johnson hit a 3-pointer to make it 91-89 for the Hawks.
Andre Miller made a pair of free throws for Portland before Johnson’s jumper and Horford’s dunk kept Portland at bay the rest of the way.

Cavaliers’ West faces more weapons charges
WASHINGTON — Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was indicted Tuesday on additional weapons and traffic charges stemming from his Sept. 17 arrest for speeding on a motorcycle and carrying multiple weapons.
The eight-count indictment sheds no new light on why West, 26, was riding a motorcycle on the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County, Md., at 10 p.m. with two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun. Prosecutors on Wednesday added an 81/2-inch Bowie knife to the list of concealed weapons West was carrying.
Clippers owner agrees to pay $2.725 million
WASHINGTON — Los Angeles Clippers owner and real estate mogul Donald Sterling has agreed to pay a record $2.725 million to settle allegations by the government that he refused to rent apartments to Hispanics, blacks and to families with children, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.
The Justice Department sued Sterling in August 2006 for allegations of housing discrimination in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles. Other defendants were Sterling’s wife, Rochelle, and the Sterling Family Trust.
The defendants allegedly made statements to employees indicating that African-Americans and Hispanics were not desirable tenants. In addition to the pro basketball Clippers, Sterling owns and manages 119 apartment buildings with over 5,000 apartment units in Los Angeles County.
