Pete Carroll fine with Marshawn Lynch’s frustration

Following Monday’s win in St. Louis, Pete Carroll brought up the fact that Marshawn Lynch’s eight carries in that game weren’t enough, and when asked about that Wednesday, he interrupted before the question was finished, saying “Don’t you agree?”

Well, yeah, hard not to. But it’s clear Lynch wasn’t happy at times with his lack of involvement during that game, and perhaps more significantly, cameras appeared to catch Lynch—how should we put this—making a one-fingered gesture at the Seahawks’ sideline in Arizona when the call on third-and-goal from the 1-yard line was a pass play.

If Lynch is indeed unhappy with his role over the past two weeks, Carroll is fine with that. He wants Lynch more involved too.

“He and I sat on the plane the other night coming home, and we were both sitting in frustration over the exact same issue,” Carroll said. “We didn’t get the ball to him in ways we had hoped to because of the way the game turned out. There was not intention in it at all. Unfortunately we didn’t get him going, and that’s not how we play. So hopefully we’ll do better this time. Sometimes it happens, it was unfortunate for a lot of reasons. I share the frustration with him. I don’t mind one bit him being frustrated about that. I was too.”
