LAKE STEVENS — Behind a six-run fourth inning and the clutch hitting of Joey Rees, Alex Hull and Jorgen Arnesen, Edmonds-Woodway defeated Lake Stevens 10-3 in a Wesco 4A game played on Tuesday afternoon.
The fourth inning rally began with three walks for the Warriors’ hitters. The walks were followed by a single and by a pair of doubles by Hull and Arnesen, giving Edmonds-Woodway an early 9-1 lead.
“They have a bunch of left-handed hitters that can flat out hit. We played them last year in the district championship and they haven’t missed a beat,” Vikings head coach Rodger Anderson said of the Warriors.
Rees batted 2-for-3 with two doubles. Hull and Arnesen both hit 2-for-4 with two RBI a piece.
Sophomore shortstop Justin Brown led Lake Stevens, batting 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss.
