SULTAN — Jerrad Jones doubled, homered and had two RBI to help Lakewood clinch the Cascade Conference’s final automatic district berth. Sultan’s Jay Leverett finished 3-for-3 and knocked in two runs. The Cougars finish as the No. 3 seed and play Burlington-Edison on May 5 at Daniels Field in Anacortes. Fourth-place finisher Granite Falls will face the Northwest Conference’s No. 5 team in a play-in game on May 3, with the winner advancing to play Lynden two days later.
