Prep baseball: Monroe 6, Mount Vernon 3

MOUNT VERNON — Monroe’s Alex Spahman got the Bearcats out of a bases-loaded jam with one out in the sixth inning and pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the save and Monroe held off the Bulldogs in the Wesco 4A North game. Andrew Chartrand stole three bases and scored three runs in the win.
