Prep boys basketball: Mount Vernon 72, Kamiak 61

MOUNT VERNON — Robert Monroe scored 16 points to lead five Mount Vernon players scored in double figures and the Bulldogs eliminated Kamiak from the 4A District 1 Tournament. Tyler Nielsen led the Knights with 22 points. Mount Vernon will play Snohomish in a consolation semifinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
