SHORELINE — Shorewood’s Brandon Mar got a rebound, basket and a foul as the clock expired, adding a free throw with no time remaining, to complete a 61-60 Thunderbirds’ comeback in overtime. Mar finished with 18 points and Taylor Freeman netted 22 for Shorewood, which defeated crosstown and Wesco 3A South rival Shorecrest.
Both teams were 3-0 going into Friday night’s game.
Conin Oishi led the Scots with 22 points — including two free throws with 14 seconds left in overtime that gave Shorecrest the lead until Mar’s late-game heroics.
