EVERETT — Edgar Navarro scored from 25 yards out in the 21st minute and Luis Guevara scored a goal of his own in the 61st minute to pace Mariner to a 2-0 win over Jackson in a Wesco 4A South game on Friday night.
When asked about the flow of the game, Marauders’ head coach Vince DeSimone said his team’s effort was there but the played just hard enough to keep the game close.
“The game was prety much one-sided,” said Desimone. “We just weren’t able to put balls into the net (tonight). Their keeper made a lot of saves. The Jackson kids are good hustlers..we aren’t (necessarily) a quicker team than them. (But) we play with more finesse.”
