Prep football: Lakewood 41, Meridian 28

MARYSVILLE — Lakewood’s Justin Peterson and Donovan Evans were all over the field Friday night, helping the Cougars beat Meridian in a nonleague game.

Evans rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and also had an interception and Peterson had 46 yards rushing, 70 yards receiving and scored three touchdowns on offense and another on defense — an 84-yard interception return — as Lakewood had little trouble with the 1A school from north of Bellingham.
