STANWOOD — Stanwood fell behind Eastlake 12-5 in the first quarter before coach Dennis Kloke called a time out and it was all Spartans the rest of the way. Stanwood crushed Eastlake, which came into the game seen as one of the best 4A teams in the state. Five Spartans scored at least nine points lead by Sammi Kelleigh and Rene Lucero who both scored 17. The Spartans had six of their nine 3s in the second quarter as they broke open the game with a 26-6 spurt. Paisley Heckman and Tarah Murphy both chipped in 10 points for Stanwood which remains undefeated in nonleague play.
