Prep girls bowling: State championships

UNIVERSITY PLACE — Everett’s Candice Goldfinch finished second overall at the 1A/2A/3A girls bowling state championships held on Saturday at Narrows Plaza Bowl. Goldfinch bowled a 1270 over six games, including a high game of 256, and finished just four pins behind Wilson’s Shannon Bailey for top individual honors. In the 4A tournament, Cascade’s Kayla Zabel and Katie Elliott finished fourth and sixth, respectively, as the Bruins placed eighth as a team.
