Four high school sports events to keep an eye on this week

HERE ARE FOUR PREP EVENTS TO KEEP AN EYE ON THIS WEEK:

Boys basketball: Skyline vs. Glacier Peak, noon Saturday. The Grizzlies won the 4A Wesco regular-season championship and finished second in the 4A District 1 tournament to qualify for this loser-out state regional game at Jackson High School. The Spartans (18-6) finished second in KingCo 4A and took second place in the KingCo 4A tournament.

Boys basketball: Mount Spokane vs. Marysville Pilchuck, 2 p.m. Saturday. The Tomahawks tied for second place in Wesco 3A, then won the 3A District 1 tournament with a win over Stanwood on Saturday. They’ll take on the Wildcats (17-6), who finished fourth in the 3A Greater Spokane League and second in the 3A District 8 tournament to advance to this loser-out state regional contest at North Creek High School.

Boys basketball: Odessa vs. Cedar Park Christian (Mountlake Terrace), 4 p.m. Saturday. The Lions (26-1) rebounded from their first loss of the season against Tacoma Baptist on Thursday to post convincing wins Friday and Saturday to take third place at the 1B District 1/2/3 tournament to qualify for this state regional game at North Creek High School. The Titans (22-3) won the Northeast 1B League regular-season championship.

Girls basketball: Lynnwood vs. Stanwood, 6 p.m. Saturday. This state regional matchup at Jackson High School guarantees at least one Wesco 3A squad will advance to the Hardwood Classic. The Spartans (16-6) tied for third in the conference, then won the 3A District 1 tournament Saturday, beating Shorecrest. The Royals (15-10) finished sixth in Wesco 3A, but won four of their five 3A District 1 games to stay alive. Stanwood beat Lynnwood 79-56 on Jan. 12.
