Here are four local prep events this week to keep an eye on:
Girls soccer: Jackson at Lake Stevens, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Timberwolves (11-1-0 Wesco 4A) can wrap up the conference championship with a win over the second-place Vikings (9-2-1). Lake Stevens has scored 20 goals in its last two games.
Girls soccer: Snohomish at Everett, 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Panthers (9-1-1 Wesco 3A) will win the conference championship with a victory over the Seagulls (5-5-1). Freshman midfielder Bree Nichols has been a key player for the Panthers this season, tallying eight goals and four assists.
Volleyball: Stanwood at Marysville Pilchuck, 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Spartans (10-0 Wesco 3A) will win the conference title and finish an unbeaten Wesco 3A campaign if they can get past the Tomahawks (0-10).
Cross country: 3A/4A District 1 championship, 11:40 a.m. Saturday. State spots will be on the line at these boys and girls races at South Whidbey. Runner to watch: Edmonds-Woodway sophomore Deyago Peraza, who finished fifth in the boys varsity race at Saturday’s Wesco Championships.
