Prep softball: Arlington 8, Mount Vernon 1

ARLINGTON — Arlington scored six runs in the sixth inning to break open the Wesco 4A North game against Mount Vernon. The Eagles’ battery of pitcher Madeline Maclean and catcher Jennifer Kellogg both had strong performances. Maclean struck out 10 in a complete-game effort and also had two hits and three RBI. Kellogg drove in three runs as well, and finished 3-for-4, including a double and a triple.
