MUKILTEO — In the top of the fourth inning Rachael Delamare hit a three-run homer and Kathleen Sundet followed with a home run of her own as Monroe rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat Kamiak 9-6 in a Wesco 4A softball game on Monday.
In addition to the strong hitting from Delamare and Sundet, Bearcats starting pitcher Alyssa Egan pitched a complete game and impressed Knights head coach Nicole Kellar from the opposing bench.
“(Egan) has a really good changeup,” said Kellar. “I think that’s what contributed to her nine strikeouts. The back-to-back home runs in the fourth (from Delamare and Sundet) were to straight away center. I mean they probably went…230 feet.”
